According to a new Nanos Research survey, 86% of Canadians believe this year’s federal election is more important than any in the past—especially amid threats to Canada’s sovereignty from U.S. President Donald Trump.

When asked why they will vote, 39% said it’s mostly about the leader, not the party or policies.
