When thinking of the most desirable places to live in Canada, many might first consider big cities like Vancouver or Toronto. However, according to The Globe and Mail's 2024 Canada's Most Liveable Cities list, there are far more factors influencing where Canadians choose to settle.

此次榜单评估了加拿大范围内人口超过10,000的448个社区，基于经济、住房、人口结构、医疗保健、安全、教育、社区、便利设施、交通和气候这10个类别的50个变量进行排名。

This ranking evaluated 448 communities across Canada with populations over 10,000, based on 50 variables across 10 categories: economy, housing, demographics, healthcare, safety, education, community, amenities, transportation, and climate.

The Globe and Mail emphasized that categories deemed more important to people, such as housing and healthcare, were given greater weight in the evaluation. Additionally, this year’s ranking was enhanced by incorporating reader feedback through a survey to better reflect public priorities for livability.

This year, North Vancouver, B.C., was named Canada’s most liveable city. The city scored highly for its access to nature, strong sense of community, and abundant amenities.

卑诗省（B.C.）城市在榜单前十中占据主导地位：西温哥华（West Vancouver）位列第二，维多利亚（Victoria）位居第三，皮特草原市（Pitt Meadows）和彭蒂克顿（Penticton）分别排在第八和第十。

B.C. cities dominated the top 10, with West Vancouver in second place, Victoria in third, Pitt Meadows in eighth, and Penticton in tenth.

As for Canada’s larger cities, Calgary made the top 10 at seventh place. Vancouver ranked 12th, while Toronto placed much lower at 82nd. Montreal was notably absent from this year’s list.
